Your Mac. More room for Lumi.

Lumi on iPhone & iPad

Use a model running on your Mac for text conversations. Your voice controls, tools, and saved conversations stay in Lumi on your device.

Lumiverse on Vision Pro

Work with your Mac’s screen inside the ship, or let your Mac handle Lumi’s AI. Screen sharing does not require an AI model.

App Store edition

The essentials

Mirror a display your Mac already has and connect your devices to Mac AI.

  • Existing-display mirroring
  • Mac AI for Lumi and Lumiverse
  • Updates through the Mac App Store

In development · not available on the App Store yet

Both editions connect to the same Lumi apps. You only need one edition running on your Mac. Switching editions? Quit the old one, open the new one, and pair your devices again.

How much desktop do you want?

Screen proportions illustrated below, seen from the pilot’s seat. Your Mac’s own screen keeps its actual shape; 16:9 is shown as an example. The virtual desktops curve around you in Lumiverse.

Mac’s own screen
Both editions · mirrors an existing display, flat
Ultrawide
Website edition · an extra-wide desktop, gently curved around your seat
Super Ultrawide
Website edition · the widest workspace, wrapping around you

The virtual display exists while your headset is connected. You can move your desktop onto it or keep it as a separate monitor. Disconnect to return your windows to your physical displays.

From download to connected

  1. 01

    Install on your Mac

Unzip the download, move Lumi Link into Applications, and open it. Look for Lumi Link in the menu bar.

  2. 02

    Choose screen sharing or AI

For Vision Pro, turn on Lumiverse Workstation and allow Screen Recording and Local Network access. For Mac AI, open Run Lumi on this Mac, install and open Ollama separately, then download a model.

  3. 03

    Pair your device

On iPhone or iPad, open Lumi → Lumi Link and scan the Mac’s QR code, or select your Mac and enter its six-digit code. On Vision Pro, open Lumiverse → Settings → Lumi Link and connect with that code. Pair each device separately.

  4. 04

    Make it yours

Choose Mac in Lumi’s model settings. In Lumiverse, choose Mac when available for AI or turn on Mac Display for your desktop. Enable the keyboard portal to see your real desk.

A few useful details

Why are there two editions?

Creating virtual ultrawide displays uses macOS interfaces that are not supported for App Store distribution. The website edition includes those features and is signed and notarized for direct download. Apple notarization is a security check, not App Store review.

What stays on my devices?

Local AI requests and screen streams travel between your devices. Mac AI sends the conversation context needed for a reply to your Mac. The optional Mac conversation viewer holds entries in memory; leave it off if you do not want them displayed there. Downloads and optional online tools need internet access.

What should I know before connecting?

Screen streaming is view-only, without audio or keyboard pass-through. Use your Mac’s own keyboard and trackpad. Mac AI currently accepts text, not photo attachments. Keep your Mac awake and both devices on the same local network, or configure Tailscale for remote access.
